During the “It Starts With Me” training, parents/caregivers learn more about themselves. They become aware of what they value in their own lives and in their families. In this group training, they discover how to put these values into practice in their daily family life.
Participants are challenged to transform old, negative patterns into positive behavior. They learn to involve people in their family and social network in these changes, which provides support and a lasting impact.
The practical exercises, video clips, and the way the information is presented—using imagery, recurring mottos, and humor—make the training very accessible to all target groups: from different social backgrounds and cultural backgrounds. Moreover, it truly encourages action. Through the group process and collaborative exercises that participants do during the sessions, as well as through homework assignments, they not only gain insight into, for example, different parenting styles, but also experience, during the training, the impact their own behavioral changes have on their family or environment.
The training impacts all aspects of positive health. The process can be compared to the germination of a seed: like a drop of water bringing to life what was already there.

The groups consist of approximately 8 parents, young people, or co-parents. The first meeting consists of a thorough introduction and the establishment of shared group rules, ensuring an atmosphere of trust and safety.
